Why wear compression socks ?

Compression socks improve the work of veins by exerting pressure on them, facilitating venous return by helping blood in veins return to the heart.  There is constant pressure on the legs. The pressure is greatest at the ankle and gradually decreases towards the top of the leg, which is called degressive pressure.

Compression socks work to improve blood circulation. They reduce discomfort due to heavy legs, edema, varicose veins and other venous disorders. Compression socks can make an enormous difference  with respect to health, improving one’s quality of life, as well as the appearance of the legs. They are generally prescribed to people suffering from venous insufficiency; but are a great option for preventive measures for persons who spend all day standing or seated, as well as for travelers and pregnant women.
