Each pair of Supporo compression stockings is defined by its level of compression measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg). We have made sure to divide our products into four levels of compression that adapt to the specific needs of each user:

LIGHT 6-8, 10-15 and 12-16mmHG Travelers, pregnant women, workers who stand or sit for long periods of time MEDIUM 15-20mmHG Pregnant women and travelers at risk of venous thrombosis, those with varicose veins and/or swelling in the legs STRONG 20-25 and 20-30mmHG People with severe varicose veins and swelling, post-thrombotic syndrome, post-sclerotherapy and other major vein surgeries. MEDICAL GRADE People with serious health issues requiring regular medical follow-up.

Preventing and Treating Venous Insufficiency

Light and moderate levels of compression are normally recommended as means to prevent leg swelling and other health problems caused by venous insufficiency. Venous insufficiency is a circulatory disorder in the veins of the legs, making it difficult for blood to return to the heart. People suffer the risk of venous insufficiency due to genetics, age, obesity, lack of exercise, pregnancy, or hormonal treatments.

High and medical levels of compression are used to treat severe cases of venous insufficiency and its symptoms.  Symptoms of this condition include heavy legs, varicose veins, restless leg syndrome, and ulcers of wounds.

It is best to consult a health professional in order to determine the level of support you require based on your medical condition and needs.
